Peru will be the guest of honor in the next edition of the Biofach specialized fair. This is the most important of its type (organic products) in the world and will take place on February 13 to 16 of 2019 in Nuremberg, Germany, as informed by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism, Promperú.
“It is a great distinction, but also a great opportunity to show us in an international showcase as an excellent supplier of organic and functional products”, said Luis Torres Paz, Promperú’s Export Promotion Director.
Paz also told Gestión that this helps the strategy of the global trend to achieve a healthy life. “Without a doubt, it will be a new challenge for the sector, in which business associations and other Peruvian public instructions will join efforts to enhance the image of our country.”, he continued.
This year the Peruvian delegation that was present in Biofach (Berlin, Germany) included 117 exporters who managed to meet with 445 different customers and achieve more than 1,200 new contacts, Gestión informed.
Some of the products that were shown and that were available for tasting were cranberries, bananas, asparagus, pomegranate, passion fruit, ginger, tangerine, mango, avocado, and grapes, among others that have been very successful in the European market over the years.
The fair congregated a total of 3,218 stands, coming from 93 countries. It brought 50,000 visits of professionals in this area, from 134 different nations in the world.
