Peruvian Soccer Players Were Welcomed As Heroes Upon Arrival In Lima

The soccer players from the Peruvian team arrived on Monday in Lima and were received as heroes by their fans.

According to Andina News Agency, some 300 fans welcomed the team, including cheerful clowns and live music after waiting for hours in from of the Jorge Chávez airport in the Peruvian capital.

“It’s a source of pride for me to welcome my team,” Jhonatan Valdivia, 35, told AFP. He waited all night at the airport with his wife and five-year-old son, wrote Andina.

The flight arrived a few minutes before 6:00 am, Peruvian time and it arrived without the team’s striker Paolo Guerrero who stayed in Brazil to join the club for which he plays for, Flamengo de Rio.
