The town of Yunkaypata is also known as the backyard of the locals and it offers gorgeous views if you’re hiking towards Cusco.
“It is located in the district of Cusco, province of Cusco and Cusco Region at an altitude of 3,736 meters above sea level”, De Aventura explains.
In this region, you can practice sports, such as mountain biking, trekking, climbing, and more.
“There are circuits ignored by official tourism that not only offer security but a road that takes you from Yunkaypata to the center of the world, passing through a seductive countryside”, Revista Somos describes the place.
Yunkaypata is 13.6 kilometers away from Cusco and the ticket to get there costs 4 soles. There is no entrance fee to travel the 7 kilometers that are between these two cities.
“In the route, there are unknown archaeological spots, such as Inkiltambo and Kusilluchayoq, besides an impeccable Inca road”, the magazine said.
They also assure that the road is solitary with just a few travelers and you can enjoy nature and the archaeological complexes.
