CAPFest, organized by the UCAP (Peruvian artisanal brewers association), their festival will be held from the 4th to the 6th of August in the Cemayu Lodge convention center in Oxapampa. Sixteen Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, Tacna, Huancayo, and Villarica brewers will join fourteen food stands. They are targeting five thousand visitors for the festival.

Oliver Diaz, the leader of UCAP, told us, “Visitors can enjoy over 80 brands and 30 different styles of artisanal beers, also share and talk to passionate creators of each brand”.

CAPFest will occur in august 2023

This event will occur a few meters from the main square of Oxapampa at the Cemayu Lodge convention center, an area of one thousand square meters and an open area of four thousand square meters. 2023 is the second time since 2014 that this event has occurred in a city different than Lima. Their idea is to expand the artisanal brewing culture all over the country.

A weekend getaway

Oxapampa is in the central Amazon jungle of Peru, the closest to Lima, with many natural and cultural attractions for a weekend getaway. It is close to Villa Rica, Chanchamayo, and Pozuzo, the latter with Oxapampa holds one of the largest Austrian-germanic communities of Peru with a great beer heritage from the first European colonizers that came to Peru.

CAPFest is a family event.

The outdoor area will offer a kids’ zone and many activities for the family, classes, a food court, and different vendors of other products like coffee, honey, dairy, and cold cuts. Visitors will be able to experience the best this region offers, including typical dances and music.

IN THE KNOW: Tickets start at S/ 30 per day on pre-sale. The event will occur at the Cemayu Lodge . It will begin Friday, august 4th at 4 pm, then Saturday and Sunday at noon, finishing daily at 11 pm. For tickets and more info, contact them via WhatsApp or email.
